Summer Events

Council Picnic --held on Sunday, August 19 at Chamcook Lake was a fun and relaxing afternoon. A brief business meeting was followed by games, conversation, and although Mother Nature sent some strong breezes, a few courageous ones ventured into the lake for a swim. The chefs did a great job on the BBQ and we all enjoyed a delicious pot luck meal !!!
Thanks to Don & Norma Mullett and Bob & Trudy Melvin for hosting this event at their beautiful summer cottages at Chamcook Lake--------a scenic part of NB some of us had never seen.

Dragon Boat Festival---Jack Kidd Council participated in the festival with volunteers selling bottled water ( with council label). Approximately $430 was raised which is donated to the Dragon Boat Festival fund in support of St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation. This is in addition to Council's donation as a major sponsor. The new tent was put to good use as shelter from the sun and added to the comfort of volunteers.
Thanks to Trudy Melvin for organizing council's participation in this event and to all the volunteers who helped throughout the day.
